CUBA'S CANOPY ZIPLINES

ZIPLINE AT LAS TERRAZAS, CUBA

CUBA'S 3 CANOPY ZIPLINES

ZIPLINING IN CUBA

Humans have been dreaming of flying for years. After over one-hundred years of mechanized flight humans have been unable to replicate the unassisted flight of birds. This could be the start of a fantastic story about unassisted flight, but it isn’t! It’s about the opportunity of having an experience like flying while visiting Cuba. When you mention Cuba, most people think sand and beaches, and Old Havana. But going back a few years Cuba started expanding its eco-tourism offerings. Some may find the idea of jumping off a platform and riding a thin cable over tree-tops or between mountains horrifying, but to those who love it there is nothing else like it. After trying it, I must admit that I love it!

Just a forty-five-minute drive from Havana is the nature preserve of Las Terrazas. After seeing for myself, I believe that the rolling hills and lush vegetation of Las Terrazas are best seen from its canopy zipline. It is over three hundred feet above sea level and offers unequaled views of the surrounding area and its lush vegetation.

There are three different zipline in Cuba, in Las Terrazas, which is open from 8am until 5pm. The one at Viñales is Cuba’s second oldest, offers eight different spans, and is open to children over twelve years-old. The third canopy zipline is in the central province of Villa Clara near the colonial town of Trinidad and offers the most options, with ten different spans.

Now you know! There are three awesome ziplines waiting for you in Cuba which will let you soar eagle-like for a few minutes. More spans are under construction, including one in the Escambray Mountain range and another in the province of Orinete.
