ONE OF OLD HAVANA'S BEST RESTAURANTS
This is one of first private restaurants, paladares, to open in the heart of Old Havana. It’s a great place to have lunch while you are on a city tour of Old Havana, and their food is some of the best in Havana. This is one of the few restaurants in Cuba that has prime cuts of meat on the menu, though I don’t recommend it if you are a steak lover. While it’s good for Cuba, this place is not a steak house, but everything else on the menu is great. The fish and seafood is fresh and well prepared. The service at 304 O’Reilly is good, the prices are high by Cuban standards, but it is a good value. You usually get what you pay for in Cuba, and the quality of the food and the ambiance here are hard to beat. As with most restaurants in Cuba go with an open mind, and make sure to ask what is not available before looking at the menu. A lunch with appetizer and a few drinks will cost around $18 per person.
On weekend nights they usually offer live Jazz featuring some of Cuba’s best musicians including Julito Padron or Oliver Valdes. 304 O’Reilly is on its’ namesake street between Habana and Aguiar, just a few blocks from La Bodeguita del Medio. It is a small place that tends to fill up, so make reservations. The phone number is 5 264 4725.
